Smashbox Makeup Brand Purchased by Estee Lauder

Smashbox Makeup Brand Purchased by Estee Lauder

It's about time that Estee Lauder got it's hands on the failing Smashbox cosmetics line. When makeup or cosmetic brands seem to fail, Estee Lauder has purchased them at low pricing and brought them back to their livelyhood.

Reuter's announced earlier today that the Smashbox and Estee Lauder deal would close in July of this year, with many makeup artists, and users citing that they are excited to have Smashbox back to a real makeup company again with products the last, not fall apart during shipping or after one use.

MAC Cosmetics is just one of the well known makeup brands owned by Estee Lauder and now worth over $1 Billion. It's hopeful that Smashbox will be worth Estee's time in the cosmetic industry, but only time will tell.

Makeup Artist Rae Kat Switzer owner of Raesin Images Colour ID Mineral Makeup brand offered, "It's a great buy for Estee Lauder, and we definately hope the Smashbox brand makeups a turnaround. We've purchased a few of the Smashbox cosmetics products from QVC and they had fallen apart prior to even arriving for use. After we tried the Smashbox brand QVC offered a refund, but not on shipping, so that was sad, we contacted Smashbox and they were of no help either. What can we say, it's not like Smashbox was worth paying for, the products were terrible and we're really looking forward to a turnaround in the next few years. Mr. Max Factor the Celebrity Makeup Artist guru deserves that much, and it's too bad his great-grandsons ruined their chances by purchasing poorly manufactured makeup in the past few years."

It's nice to read about "NO MAKEUP" on celebrities, but let's get real, there are not many celebrities that do their own makeup and most of us do apply our own, and this is makeup news for the normal consumer like yourself.
